As indicated in the following wasan in “Hymns on the Three Periods” (Shozomatsu Wasan), shinjin is the correct cause for our birth in the Pure Land, in other words, is the cause for us to transcend this world of delusion and be born in the world of enlightenment:

Accepting the “marvelously mysterious”
Buddha-wisdom
Is the cause of our birth in the fulfilled land.
Realizing the true cause (shinjin),
Is among difficulties the most difficult.

This sort of explanation of shinjin by the Venerble Master Shinran is of a completely different dimension than the problem of governmental authority in the secular world (world of delusion).

I believe this is extremely important in correctly understanding the Jodo-Shinshu teaching.
